Zim Dancehall Awards and Nominees Announced.

SEH CALAZ, who was nominated as the best male artist of the year 2014 shocked the Zimbabwean dancehall community as he scooped the awards regardless of criticism. On behalf of the clan, his manager  poses an apology over the sting  clash.

 "As Mabhanditi we would like to sincerely apologise for the unfortunate turn of events at the Sting clash last week Saturday 8th November .

While many falsehoods have been peddled as to what actually transpired, some individualsl are taking advantage of the chaos for fame. But the truth of the matter is that there was no intention to start or cause violence by the artists and there was no physical violence between the artists. The commotion was a result of failure by the moderator of the show to ensure that all artists left the stage when cans were being thrown as to what was agreed prior to the show. Seh Calaz never walked out to confront Soul Jah Love as is being falsely reported.  He simply walked off the stage to the exit where Soul Jah Love happened to be.  What happened there is insignificant, emotions were high and things were interpreted wrongly.  Seh Calaz simply did what had been agreed on and never shyed away from the challenge and he never will.

Unfortunately some overzealous fans against better judgement, decided to throw teargas into the packed venue. This was uncalled for and highly irresponsible as it caused an unnecessary stampede and sadly people got injured and lost valuables. The police should have taken cue from the disaster at the National Sports Stadium years back which killed 13 people when they threw teargas into the crowd following a Delron Buckely brace which sank Zimbabwe and fans started throwing missles. It was an irresponsible act.

To show our commitment to none violence, we are even prepared to do a joint show with Soul Jah Love whose proceeds will go to the victims of the Sting incident.  Regardless of where or who will attend, we have already made a commitment that all proceeds from our next show (seh calaz solo show) will go towards the victims of this unfortunate incident. The artists themselves met this week and there is no bad blood between them, it was just a show and that is all there is to it.We again sincerely apologise to all partners and we ask them to continue supporting Zimdancehall. To the fans, we appeal for calm.  At the end of the day, this is just art and its not a physical war.  We can play the blame game for as long as we want but the fans are the owners of the genre and will do our best to make them first priority on our entertaiment list...
